Journal History

Sriwijaya Law Review (SLRev) is an international journal published by Faculty of Law, Sriwijaya University, Indonesia. The idea of the journal establishment was derived from the former dean of Faculty of Law Professor Febrian to establish a high quality standard of legal journal within the faculty of law in Indonesia. He, then, assigned the Head and the secretary of Quality Assurance (QA) of the Faculty Prof. Annalisa Y and Assist. Prof. Nurhidayatuloh to initiate a legal journal with international standard. Moreover, the QA organized a workshop regarding to the establishing of international legal journal. The participants to the workshop were from all departments within the faculty, namely, the Constitutional Law Departement, Administrative Law Departement, Private Law Departement, Criminal Law Departement and International Law Departement. The outcome of the workshop was formulated the editorial board of the journal where Prof. Achmad Romsan and Assist. Prof. Nurhidayatuloh was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor respectively. Since the journal is an international journal, the editorial board and the scientific committee members must come from across continents. Under the good cooperation between the Faculty of Law Universitas Sriwijaya, the QA and other stakeholders, on the 31^st January 2017 the Sriwijaya Law Review eventually launched. The event is simultaneously taken as the birth of SLRev.
